The Ring of Ayurveda

While taking an ayurvedic cure in Induruwa, Sri Lanka, a very special staff made from the wood of a sugar palm crossed Nils Peters' path. Through Aida Gems and Dr. H. P. K. Dahanayaka he learned about the ayurvedic gemstones (pearl, coral, emerald, diamond, tourmaline and coloured sapphires) and designed the Staff of Ayurveda and the Ring of Ayurveda (Naverathne).

Crowned golf ball

As a cup for special awards of 'Best of Products' and companies the Deutsche Golf AG (German Golf Stock Corporation) assigned Nils Peters to craft a golf ball from amber on which a golden crown of yellow gold thrones. A pound of raw amber was necessary to abrade a sphere to the original size of a golf ball with 4.3 cm in diameter. Altogether 333 facets were engraved into the surface of the amber.

2006

Frog King

In cooperation with the sculptor Matzi Müller from Herrstein, who created a frog out of sandstone, Nils Peters developed from yellow gold a crown with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. The candlelight in the centre of the crown radiates into the gemstones and composes a star with 12 beams on the surface of the Frog King.

Marriage chalice for Rügen

On a log from sallow thorn wood, which is garnished with divers symbols of love made of gold leaf, a rock crystal chalice with golden rutil-needles is enthroned on silver. In the chalice floats a big amber in which a ruby composed in yellow gold rests. Is champagne poured into the chalice on the amber it foams like the waves of the sea at sunrise.

Pilgrim wands

During a study trip in the Himalaya and his encounter with hinduism and buddhism Nils Peters developed with the art historian Beate Kowol 12 pilgrim wands from rhododendron wood with river stones from the Kali Kandaki Valley: The wand of the universe, of the sun, the moon, the earth, the humans, the animals, the plants, of the water, the air and the fire. Nils Peters engraved runes into the 12th wand. It is the wand of peace and communication.

Medicine Wheel

Nils Peters visited and engaged himself several months with the culture of the north-american natives, the First Nations. Inspired by Sun Bear he developed in the Black Forest in cooperation with the art historian Beate Kowol a 3 metre spanning medicine wheel with hundreds of rock crystals and other gemstones, with soil, different tree and plant seeds and candles. In several months of work the various single parts were fixed and so made transportable for the exhibtion "Light Journey 2002".
